After doing a lot of research about music magazines,
and their audiences, and how they cater to their audiences. I have found that
even though a lot of the main music magazines tend to aim their product at a
unisex audiences, however the majority of the ones I
looked at had quite a masculine colour scheme and feel to it.
So I have decided to aim the magazine at the female
audience, of the ages 25-35 (Approx).
To cater to this I am going to use a soft colour
scheme (I looked on the Colour Lovers website, and found a couple of colour
schemes which could work well for the magazine, I just need to decide more
clearly which exact one I am going to use.
The content and artists that the magazine will feature
will also be ones that females would be interested in.
I have also decided to give the magazine a
vintage/shabby chic feel, as that is big trend at the moment. To portray this I
am going to use vintage inspired fonts, and Polaroid style borders on some of
the images. I think this could work really well, as it’s a little bit different
to the kind of style used by some of the music magazines out there.
I have also decided on the genre of pop - as it's quite a broad genre, so I will be able to be more flexible with the magazine.
