Human Resource Planning -

For My Piece -

Now I have constructed the designs for my music magazine, I need to think about who I am going to ask to be models to appear in the magazine.

I am going to ask my auntie to appear in some shots, as she has the kind of look that will work well with the magazine (young and feminine). I have planned out the shots I need after looking at a lot of magazine front cover images, and hopefully I will be able to use her for the front cover. (She has now confirmed, and we have decided to shoot next weekend, so then I can begin constructing the magazine).

I might also ask a couple of other friends to model for me, so that I have a variety of shoots to choose from.

I am also going to ask my mum to help with the photo shoot, as she will be able to help me get the lighting right by holding reflectors etc… (She has also confirmed and can help with the shoot).

In the Industry -

Within the industry there would be different people to fulfill different roles, instead of one person completing all of the aspect of the magazine like I am doing with my project.

You would have one or more professional photographers to take the images for the magazine, and editors that manipulate them to fit the theme of the intended magazine.

Then you would have a couple of journalists that would research the articles, and then a team of writers that produce the finished pieces that will run in the magazine.

Design editors and production editors work together to establish a house style for the magazine, and make sure that the layouts are fluent and fit with the theme of the magazine.

Then to over see the whole production is the editor or editor in chief, who comes up with the headlines and decides what content is going to be included in the issue. They also ensure that accuracy and taste is used throughout the magazine, to ensure that it is suitable for public consumption.
